Heather Hirsch, M.S.
Heather serves as Harte Research Institute’s Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations. She works closely with HRI leadership and TAMU-CC Institutional Advancement to move HRI forward, expand research programs, and grow the institute’s ability to deliver science-driven solutions for Gulf of Mexico problems.
Heather was raised in Athens, a small town in northeast Texas, and attended Texas A&M University in College Station, where she completed a B.S. in Agricultural Economics with an emphasis in policy analysis. Her passion for research later propelled her to graduate school, where she earned her master’s in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M with a thesis examining risk analysis/simulations and modeling of farm policy through the university’s Agricultural and Food Policy Center.
Prior to joining the HRI team, Heather spent her early career with Texas A&M AgriLife Research in Corporate Relations. In this role she worked as a project specialist for multidisciplinary projects externally funded by public and private partners. She provided overall project management and served as a point of contact for partners in navigating the academic landscape. This unique style of collaboration allowed partnerships to thrive, and she’s excited to bring her expertise in navigating these relationships here to HRI.
