Liz is a Research Technician in the Coastal Ecosystem Processes laboratory, working with Dr. Michael Wetz. She has been a member of the lab since 2016. Liz participates in monthly sampling of local estuaries and studies the distribution of the brown tide-forming organism Aureoumbra lagunensis, pico-cyanobacteria, and heterotrophic bacteria. Liz also helps with the deployment of and optimization of operating protocols for the lab's Land Ocean Biogeochemical Observatory. In the time she has been a part of the Wetz lab group, she has developed interests in water quality monitoring, harmful algal blooms, and technical field operations. Liz earned her B.S. in Biology from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2017.
