Bailey Pearson, M.S.
As a technician at the Harte Research Institute, Bailey is working with Dr. Joe Fox on oyster mariculture research in Matagorda Bay. She received her M.S. in Fisheries and Mariculture from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2019. Her thesis project investigated ways to improve the rearing of larval spotted seatrout in hatcheries when faced with high salinity water conditions. She was also a founding member of the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Student Subunit of the American Fisheries Society. While earning her M.S., she worked as the assistant manager at a local bait shop in Flour Bluff. She has been a volunteer with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Coastal Fisheries Stock Enhancement program since 2015, and has volunteered at both the CCA Marine Development Center in Corpus Christi and the Perry R. Bass Marine Fisheries Research Station in Palacios, Texas.
