Meredith Walker is the Executive Director of the Harte Research Support Foundation (HRSF), the supporting arm of the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. She received her master’s degree in International Economic Policy with an emphasis in Energy Economics from American University. In Washington, Meredith was the Senior Program Coordinator for the Center for the Global South, a think tank at American University that focused on economic and environmental security issues in the developing world. She returned to Houston to work as District Aide for state Senator Rodney Ellis and supported him in his appointment to the National Energy Commission—a three-year, private sector effort to develop consensus recommendations for future U.S. energy policy. After the publication of that report, Meredith served as the Associate Director of Development at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University for five years and as the Senior Director of Development at the Texas Heart Institute from 2009 to 2012. She has been with HRSF since April 2012.
