Yasmine Carcamo is an undergraduate student at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi studying biology. Her goal is to receive a Bachelor's degree in Biology then continue her studies in order to pursue her Master's in Marine Biology. In the future she wishes to work with the Ocean Clean Up and be part of removing the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and restoring the ecosystem to its original state. After a few years of working with Ocean Clean Up, she would like to help increase access to sanitized water in developing countries especially in rural areas where access is limited. She received a volunteer opportunity with the Harte Research Institute through the Honors Program and is currently helping with socioeconomic projects such as the GecoServ database.
