Angelica Marie Ovalle is a graduate research assistant at TAMU-CC working at the Harte Research Institute, with a thesis focusing on how human activity can influence the ecological health of Gulf of Mexico's estuaries by measuring micro-benthic diversity. Angelica grew up in San Antonio and went to school for her undergraduate degree studying Agriculture at Texas State where she found a passion for sustainability.

In her free time, she enjoys making art inspired by nature. She is an outdoor enthusiast who tries to spend as much time out in nature as possible. After her degree, she plans to put her education into her own sustainability-focused business.
